OUAKERS FAIL BADLY IN GAME WITH CORNELL Red Team Plunges Almost at Will Through Pennsylvania Line; Score, 9 to 0 PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 30.-(Py the Associated Press)- Gil Dobie’s power full eleven from Cornell defeated the University of Pennsylvania today 9 to 0 on straight football and remain the only big team in the east which has not been beaten for two years. It was the first time Pennsylvania failed to score this season. The last game Cornell lost was to Pennsylvania on Thanksgiving day. 1920. A placement goal by Hanson in the first period and a touchdown by Cas- sidy in the third make up the total of Cornel’s offers that counted today, but give no indication of the offensive and the complete superiority of the red team. The highly touted defens- i’ve of Pennsylvania was hopeless against the rushes of Captain Kaw, Pfann Ramsey and Cassidy while it’s offensive was weak and failed to un- cover anything new. Fifty-five thou sand persons saw the game. The Cornell backfield plunged through the enemy’s line almost at will, Pfann being the individual hero, with Kaw, Ramsey and Cassidy only shade less prominent in the attack. The first score came after a sharp series of rushes which brought the Red eleven to within 12 yards of the Quaker goal. Pennsylvania forwards staged a rally then and Cornell made only two yards in three attempts. On the fourth down, Kaw threw a forward pass to Guion Lock, who was forced out of bounds on Pennsylvania three yard line before he could make the necessary distance. Pennsylvania 1 took the ball and Hamer punted to Cornell on Pennsylvania’s 35 yard line Cornelis offensive was checked again and then Hanson kicked a placement goal from the B yard line. The touchdown in the third period came after a series of line plunges through tackle and end runs by Pfann Ramsey to Cassidy, the ball being car ried all the way down the field tc Pensylvania’s 4S yard line Hanson failed to kick the goal.
