LEO Irish” Prendergast. a demure and unsophisti- Gated freshman, was the cause Of Lafaycite College scoring another football victory here to-day on Forbes Field. 1t was Prendergast who scrambled through the Pitt line, scooped up tumble and ran thirty yards for the touchdown that gave Lafayette a TO victory over the strong University of Pittsburgh eleven Four days ago Prendergast was only a tackle on the Lafayette scrub eleven. For some reason he received the call to- DAY over Ford, the varsity tackle. The move proved very fortunate. indeed. for Coach DR.. “Keck” Southerland. as Prem dergast’s eagle eye and his fieetness or foot gave Lafayette it’s only score of the gone. The play on which Prendergast crossed the Panther line came In the third period. and was the break which decided the game. Until this time the game had been decidedly in Lafayette’s favor, but IL did not possess an Eliot OF the l92l team to push the ball over for score. While 1t was Prendergasts sensational run that overshadowed all other events, the work of Bots Drummer and Mike GazeIla was noteworthy. These two halfbacks carried virtually the entire Lafayette offensive, and were the cause of LAFAYETTE threatening Pitts goal line on two other occasions. And 1t was the great defensive work OF ‘Dutch’ Schwab. Art Deibel, Berry and O’Connell that successfully held OF repeated Pitt attacks. The lineup:
