  Forward Passes By Kansas University Defeats Iowa State AMES, Iowa, Oct. 22-Successful forward passing today gave Kansas university a II to victory over the Iowa State college in Missouri Val ley conference game here today. A Kansas tumble early in the game led up to the Cyclones only points, McAvinchey recovering the ball on the Jayhawkers’ sixteen yard line. Gaylord hit the line for seven yards and Young made it first down in the same way. Gaylord added two and after plunges by Young and Sur rie had netted only a yard or two, pass was caught by Riggs for q touchdown. A tumble by Currie also gave the visitors their first chance, Mcdonald of the Kansas eleven recovering the ball on Ames’ 35-yard line. Steady plunges by Sturgeon with an occa- sional short pass by Wilson took the ball to the Cyclones three-yard line. Wilson. by plunges, went through for touchdown. The winning points were made at the start of the fourth period. Kan sas had the ball on Ames’ 4s-yard line when the period began. Two passes netted p yards and another pass to Black enabled the latter to cross the goal line.
