  VIRGINIA DEFEATS RICHMOND U,’ l4O Orange and Blue Completely Outplay. Opponents, But Register Only 2 Scores. CHARLOTTESVILLE. Va. Oct. s. The University OF Richmond Of fered a stubborn resistance here today to. the University OF Virginia and held the Orange and Blue TO a l4-to-0 score. Virginia outplayed her opponent. gaining a total Of $50 yards to Richmond’s IS and MAX ing IL TO Z first downs but was able to register but two scores. Burge. taking the place of Capt. Rinehart. was Virginia’s offensive star and did most Of her ground gaining. He paved the way for the first touchdown by carrying the ball in three successive runs TO within striking distance of the goal and Oppleman went over with it at the opening of the second period. Virginia’s only other score came in the third quarter when Virginia recovered on a tumble and, after line plays for first down. Oppleman got away for a 35-yard run and Harris carried the ball over. Hall kicked both goals. For the visitors the work Of Jones at half. who starred on the offensive and John. ston. who was the mainstay on the defensive, were the features. The former displayed rare NERVE, play ing through most of the game with a broken nose.
