find that it was one of the most remarkable teams in Dixie. Starting the season with a squad of men who had only one years experience in collegiate football, they finished the season undefeated. One of the features of the past season was the wonderful improvement of the Georgia offense over their work last year. The Red and Black eleven only scored 91 points last season and were defeated twice and played three tie games. This season we find that they scored a total of 250 points, one tie game with Virginia and no de- feats. Whether you are admirer Of the Bulldog clan or not, you will have to take off your skypiece and admit that the Bulldogs sure improved lots, and l if they are that much better next sea- son. the other Dixie teams will not have chance against the Stegemanites. In the mythical all-southern selections picked by the sporting experts” we find three Red and Black warriors the gen- eral choice of every scribe, Capt. Bum Day, Arty Pew and Owen Reynolds, while Fuss Welchel and Buck Cheeves were given places by several of the so- I called experts ALL NATIVES OF STATE The admirers of the Red and Black take pride in pointing to the fact that | every man who received his letter and 1 is to be awarded a gold football. in- 1 scribed on it, Champions 1920 s. l. A. A. is a native of this state and re- ceived his prep football training in Geor- 1 gia schools. The Georgia eleven is indeed Georgia 1 team-for Georgia boys It is an achieve ment that very few other elevens can boast of-having an all-sttae personnel on it’s team. | Georgia defeated Citadel 40 to 0, South | Carolina 37 to o, Thurman to 0, Ogle- thorpe 27 to 0, Auburn to 0, Florida oS ! to 0, Alabama 21 to IA, Clemson 55 to 0. | and played a scoreless tie with Vir- l ginia. PLANNING FOR 1921 l The 1921 football schedule hasn’t been announced, but the Red and Black will | play Auburn at Columbus, Alabama lh ! Atlanta, Vanderbilt (place to be decided on), and Virginia in Athens This is a quartet of good teams, while games Wilh Furman, Clemson and Citadel will oe played. Another big game will appear 1 on the Red and Blacks schedule. H will either be big eastern team or one l of the best elevens in the south. The past season we find that DICK 1 Hartley probably, set world recoFu when he ran distance of l75 yards TOT | two distinct touchdowns in less than minute and 20 seconds. l Some of the other long runs were 1 Cheeyes’ S2-yard dash for the winning | touchdown over Alabama, Hartley oo and 60-yard runs for touchdowns against rClemson. Dave Ceilings booted o9- | ward drop-kick against South Carolina ! Jimmy DeHart, who had charge of the | Red and Black backfield the past sea son. will again be in the Georgia foio | next year, assisting Coach Stegeman, and these two mentors have somethns up their sleeves that they are gong to show when next season rolls around
