Virginia And Georgia Play To O-O Draw Charlottesville, Va, Novem- Der 6.-Georgia and Virginia battled to a scoreless tie in their annual football game here today, neither team being able to make a serious impression on the stubborn defense of it’s rival. Desperate attempts to score were made by both teams in the third quarter by means or the aerial attack, but to no avail The lines Of both teams were strong, both on the defensive and offen- siye. Day, the Georgia center, part,cs- pated in virtually every play The duel between the two sets of ends was one or the best defensive features seen here this season. There was little to choose be- tween Reynolds and Bennett of Georgia and Michie and Newman for Virginia ln the opinion of football enthusiasts. Rineheart bore the brunt of the of- fense for Virginia and outdistanced Col lings of Georgia on punts. Hartley and Cheeves gained most of Georgia’s S ground which was slightly more than that gained by Virginia. FIRST QUARTER Neither Georgia University nor vir- ginia could score in the first period, all though the period ended with Georgia in possession of the ball Virginia s 35-yard line. Once Georgia had advanced to Virginia s 23-yard line, but the lighter Virginia line held, and the ball werr over. Score end of first period Georgia 2, Virginia 0. SECOND QUARTER Virginias line held and Rhinehart in- tercepted a forward pass and ran some 30 yards. After an exchange of punts that followed failures to gain Rhine- hart made r yards after intereepting another forward pass The period ended with the ball in Georgias possession on her own 2O-yard line.
