CHICAGO, Nov. 19.-On the college campus at Evanston, and in weather so cold that the spectators froze along the boundary lines, the football elevenS Of Northwestern and Wisconsin universities wrestled to finish today, ana the men from Madison fairly overwhelmed their gallant adverSarleS. 1t was ter rible defeat, and all Evanston went into mourning over the slaughter. Northwestern was outplayed at every point: its rush line went down in heaps before the men from Wisconsin, its runners were stopped before they even started, and its tackles could not stop the fleet Sprinters, who scored nearly every other minute. The team, how ever, was badly crippled, Kenncott being absent on account of sprained ankle, Moves was sick, and could not play his usual game, and the eleven seemed lost, daZed and altogether at sea. Wisconsin plays were, on the other hand, brilliant, their running good and they played well together. 1t was an easy game, but good contest nevertheless, and the Wisconsin men are proud and happy. At every point the Madison team work exceeded their opponents, and they rushed their men round the ends or through the center, 1t was a hard game from the end of the second. but Madisons team work was too much for the Evanstons.
