mark only a couple of feet from h’S path. The most notable feature OF Prince toms forward passing was that they were 40 we’ll conceived and perfectly executed that there seemed no chance for them to 20 astray and unless the receiver had made a muf. But the muffs were not made and the passes made many yards for Princeton anu were the real offensive factor that turnea the scale. The Navy passes were Bood, plays. Inc Tigers did not see Carney and he would have had a clear field for touchdown hut he made a miserable mWf and the Nayy’s chances for touchdown were gone. Didn’t Show Much There is no doubt that with oil ths Harvard and Yale scouts present! Coucn Bill Roper decided to show nothlhe eH cept what he had to show. IT Was cvl. dent early in the game that Joe Scheerei was a far longer punter than King anl also that Lourie was better IN return,hs nunts than Cruise. This combinatlor meant that Princeton could gam many wards on punt exchanges and they diG Scbeerer’s toe kept the ball at sat’ distance from the Tigers line ana attel Jourie’s touchdown at the beginning o. the second period, Princeton really mac little to fear. The Nays line as whole outplayet Princetons forwards. That accounts for the fact that the Navy outrushed th’ Tiers from scrimmage, 130 yards u l2S. The margin, however, was s. small, that it is easy to adduce that tn Princeton backs were much more power ful Extensively than the Nays Furthermore, had it been necessary Roper could have sent in two new set of fresh backs, while the Navy hasn any such long string Of substitutes tina could have made us good a showing the ones who began behind the line. Roper began today to lay his plan! for the West Virginia game. Ihi team, which defeated the Tigers 21-‘ last year, should be a rather easy vic tim next Saturday as Yale had n trouble in beating the Southerners Sat urday 24–0.

The Mountaineers ponderous 1S3 pound line proved no barrier to the plunging Eli backs and when the Blue tired of battering the southerners’ de- fense line the attack was varied by a forward passing game. The visitors might be summed up as a team of un- usual weight but lacking in speed and football brains all it gained by it’s brawn. The contest, which was witnessed by | approximately 30,ooo persons. was mar red by an unfortunate injury to Carl Beck, the best performer of the West | Virginia eleven. An accidental kick in the head administered by Halfbacb Campbell of Yale put the big Mountain ger star out of action in the opening pc riod It was stated after the game that l q kick caused a slight concussion of the brain and that Beck will be on the in valid list for some time. l Dickens, the Eli tackle and Quarter back Thorne Murphy. also left the game l later because of injuries but their hurt: are not serious. Throughout the foul periods of play of the Blue team was revelation over their performance of week ago against Boston College. Ther’ was speed cunning and good field gen l eralship in the attack of the Bulldog ol Saturday while the defensive play was treat to followers of the team. The Yal secondary defense was exceptional, | meritorious.
