Atlanta, October 16.-(Spe- cial. - In a close, exciting game, the Sewanee Tigers won 21-to-13 victory over the Oglethorpe Petrels here this afternoon. The score hardly tells what a battle it was and one should know that Sewanee scored fourteen points in seven minutes to realize just what a splendid scrap the Oglethorpe team came back with. The Tigres opened with a sweeping offensive that seemed unstoppaole. Twice they scored in the first period and once again in the second but here they were called to a halt and in he third round Oglethorpe assumed the offensive. Toward the end of the shird period, Nicho1es broke through the ne and blocked a punt back of the Tigers goal. Reaves dropped on it for the first touchdown. Two minutes later on the second play of the fourth quarter, Johnny Knox, halfback and captain of the Oglethorpe team, took a punt from the toe of Harper on the 37-yard line. He side-stepped couple of Sewanee fer wards that dashed up and started On a zig-zag run across the field. Sixty three yards he sped, and only to stop when the ball was resting peacefully under the goal posts The game was full of interest for Il 6 spectators, but especially so after the fatal first quarter was passed.
