Except for the first period and occasional spurts in the second session, the Minnesotans were completely out classed in every phase of the game, with the possible exception of individual brilliancy. as shown in the per- Torrance of Halfback OsS. the twenty-yard line gave North western her first three points. The kick was made possible by a series of forward passes intersperSed with end runs and cross bucks. Two touchdownS by Halfback Grausnick and goals from touchdown by Penfield completed the Purple scoring, one touchdown coming in the third and the other in the fourth period. Minnesota got within ten yards of Northw estern’s goal at the end of the lacking just as it was at other crucial times. Aiding materially in the telling work of Grausnick was the Palmer Carney and the Palmer-Patterson forward passing pairs.
