Cornell is Forced To Rally to Beat Rochester Team ITHACA, N. Y, Oct. 2.-Cornell defeated Rochester IN the opening game of the season here to-day, 13 to 6, after the visitors had thrown scare into the local eleven by getting the first touchdown. The Cornell team, although green, showed later strength. The use of the forward pass by the Comedians during the game showed that this form of attack is not to be neglected by Coach Dobie. Only once during the game did the play fail to net substantial gain. The first score came in the opening quarter, when Rochester, after series of attacks around the ends, got the ball down to Cornell’s 14-yard line. On the next play Captain Harris carried the ball across the line, skirting right end for touchdown. He failed to kick goal. In the second quarter Cornell scored on series of forward passes and fake kick formation, Mayer taking the ball over Carey kicked the goal. In the fourth, Cornell after a series of attacks by the forward pass route, put the ball on the 4-yard line, and at the next play Kaw carried the ball across. Later in the half, Cornell got the ball on the 1-foot line. but lacked the necessary punch. The line-up:
