  ILLINOIS WINS DECISIVE VICTORY OVER MICHIGAN URBANA, ILL.,. November 15.-Illinois won a decisive victory over the Michigan foot ball eleven here today, 20 to z, before $4,000 rooters, the second largest ever gathered on Illinois Field. After holding the nlini in check for the first period. the Wolverines defense crumbled. The first Illinois touchdown came early in the second quarter, when the backfield crashed through Michigan’s line repeatedly, Crangle taking the ball through center to the 1-yard line. Walquist went over for the touchdown. A pass. Walquist to Car ney, carried the ball to 15-yard line and enabled Ralph Fletcher to boot n goal from the field for the second score. In the third period the Illini opened up with forward passes before which the Michigan defense seemed helpless, piling UP two touchdowns in the third period. Illinois second string men, who replaced the regulars in the final period, also negotiated touchdown, Lovejoy going over shortly before the game ended. Michigan’s only score came in the final period. when Wick picked up a tumble and ran SO yards for a touch down. An injury to Ralph Fletcher. carry him from the field at the be- ginning of the fourth period. After an X-ray examination F1etchers sup porters were assured he would be able to play against Ohio State next Saturday.

Nov. l5.-University of Illinois foot ball eleven won a decisive victory from Michigan on Hi nois field, % to 7, before $4,000 spec tatorS., After holding Illinois in check for the first period the Wolverines detense crumbled. The first Illinois touchdown came early in the second quarter when the Illini backs crashed through the Michigan lines repeatedly, Crangle taking the bali through center to the one-yard line and Walquist going over for the touchdown. A pass, Wafquist to Carney, paved the way for the second score. 1t car ried the bali to the l5-yard line and enabled Ralph Fletcher to boot a goal from the field. In the third period the Illini opened up with forward pass and al ternating with stilletto like thrusts, Illinois piled up two touchdowns. The Illinois second string men, who replaced the regulars in the final period, also scored a touchdown, Lovejoy going over shortly before the game ended. Michigan’s only score came in the final period when Wick picked up a tumble and ran 50 yards fora touch down. e. a An injury to Ralph Fletcher made 1t necessary to carry him from the field in the fourth period. An X-ray examination indicates that he will be all right for next Saturdays game against Ohio State.
