Washington State Wins From University Seattle, Nov. 3O.-Washington State college yesterday won the Pacific coast football title from the University of Washington by score of Il to 0, after one of the stubbornest fights ever put up by losing team on University field. Six times Pullman threatened to score and twice the eollegians went over the goal line on their last down. Short, steady gains by Pullman s backs took them within distance time after time when the Washington men held and forced Pullman to give over the ball. The scores were made early I in the second and fourth uarters, the / last touchdown requiring six bucks to cover five yards. Bangs, Pullman S wonderful halfbaek only once got away for more than five wards, Anderson, Washington s tackle, spilling him a score of times. Anderson and Blake were almost impregnable and Pullman s offtaekle plays gained only through Washington right side. Pullman Nears Goal Often Straight football accounted for both scores, but forward passes in the last five minutes put Pullman on the six yard line at the finish. Washington made Pullman fight for every inch on straight football, and Sehnebley, Glover and Gillis were put out of the game with injuries. ! Washington S only offensive point was Blake 5 toe, while the defensive playing of Anderson, Blake and Murply kept the score down. Mud made the bah slippery and costly fumbles were numerous. For Pullman, Bangs and Zimmerman were the mainstavs. Zimmerman com pleted three passes and played strong | defensive game, while Bangs. bore the lbrunt of the offensive, smashing thru the university time after time for gain: Glover, until injured, made consistent yardage. Seven thousand spectators, including 400 State college students, attended.
