COULD NOT HOLD Kansas Lost to Nebraska in Good Game, ID to 3. COrnhusker Attack in Third Quarter Too Much. Lawrence, Kan, Nov. 19.-The Ne braska Cornhuskers have won the Missouri Valley championship title but not without a struggle. Kansas hackers are still trying to inquire out today how the Nebraska attack IN the third quarter was able to crumble the opponent impregnable JayhaWker line and settle a 10 to 3 score. The reward of it’s surprising uprising in the first half, remarkable rally in which the Cornhuskers were unquestionably outplayed, netted the Kansans only three points. The huge, harsh. grinding drive OF the Huskers was a more profitable one. It netted two touchdowns and the game in the third quarter. It was hard to realize in the third quarter that the team that was being crushed and battered by the raids of Husker backs was the same crew that had checked rally after rally and sortie after sortie of those same backs IN the first two periods. A rugged wall that held and held became flmsy hedge that gave and gave. First Quarter ScOreless. The first quarter was a scoreless affair. Kansas started punting early and had all the better of the exchanges in the booting line, managing to keep the ball pretty well out of its danger lines. Nebraska couldn’t get well started when in possession of the ball, for t struck a barrier at the line. The Hawkers began to outplay their opponents to an even greater extent at the start of the second period, few punts were exchanged and then a short march of the Huskers was halt ed about in midfield, Kansas taking the ball on downs. Nelson, Pringle and Foster gained and penalty aided in gaining a first down. Then Ruble and Pringle kept up the march, and a 7-yard charge by Nelson was good for another first down. Pringle lugged the ball six yards farther and then was thrown for a loss-but the play was around left end and carried the ball to a point of vantage for Arthur Longorg, a Horton, Kan, boy, to drop back ground by stem” Foster for the first score of the game. Kansas continued to shine both at offense and defense and the half end ed to 0, Jayhawkers. The Second Half. The second half started inauspiciously enough. There were some harmless exchanges of punts and some seesaw bucking. The first big drive was launched from the Husker i0-yard line, Cook of the scarlet jerseyed eleven placing the ball there after receiving a punt. Paul Dobson dropped back and flung a forward pass to Schellenberg for a 20yard gain. Cook, Schellenberg and Dobson romped to a first down. And then Johnny Cook turned the tide of the game. Receiving the ball on a direct pass the Husker back shot far around the Kansas right end, his interference picking off the Hawk ers as fast as they would appear. Foster made a final lunge, but failed, and Cook completed his 35-yard trot behind the Kansas goal. Captain Shaw booted a seventh point. But that was just start. Nettles kick d off, and he kicked right into another big drive. 1t was a case of tramp-tramp tramp-the boy5-aremarching from the time Rhodes was downed on his 3O-yard line. Smash-smash- smash at the Kansas line. HUI ka was the center of the battering ram. Cchellenberg and Dob son thanked the Bohemian on either side and did their share of the Juggling, too. There was only one interruption to tie march. After the Huskers had completed four first downs in rapid succession a 15-yGrd penalt gave them fifth and put the ball Kan
