  Vanderbilt LACED BY GEORGIA TECH Nashville Eleven Given Worst Defeat on Record for That Institution, SO to O. ATLANTA. Ga, November a. Georgia Techs more seasoned brand Of foot ball. coupled with brilliant end running by the locals backfeld prov ed too much for Vanderbilt here today, the Jackets piling up a total Of SO points and administering the worst defeat ever said to have been recorded against an eleven representing the Nashville institution. It was Techs first triumph over the Commodores since foot ball relations were established in 1895. although the two teams had not faced each other for the last seven years. Starting off with rush that virtual 1y swept their opponents or their feet. the local team ran up a total Of twenty-seven points the first period and in the second period scored two more touchdowns. The visitors defense broke down in the third and fourth periods, although rally in the latter period brought them within striking distance OF their opponents goal. Open ing up an overhead attack. the Nc Gugin players then worked the ball to Techs ten-yard line. but lost 1t on downs. Tech was frequently penaIized for f-side play and in several instances for technical infraction of the rules.
