Alex Wojciechowicz played center at Fordham (1935–⁠37). He finished fourth in the 1937 Heisman vote and was a consensus All‑American in 1936 and 1937. The Detroit Lions took Wojciechowicz in the first round, No. 6 overall in the 1938 NFL Draft. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1955.
